David with his ute

Mill Park

Hi, I’m David Beattie and I’ve recently taken on the Kitset territory in Victoria’s north and northeast.

I've spent the last 25 years working in food distribution management, so early starts, tight schedules and making sure things actually happen when they're supposed to have pretty much been my way of life. It's an industry that keeps you sharp, and after a long run in that world, I figured it was time to build something of my own — and that's what brought me here.

Kitset felt like a natural fit. Outside of work I've always enjoyed getting my hands dirty — building, fixing, tinkering. There's something satisfying about starting with a pile of parts and ending up with something that works, and I think that same mindset translates pretty well into what Kitset is all about.

Away from work, I'm a dad to three boys, which means my spare time is a constant rotation of sport, noise and negotiating — sometimes all three at once. I've always been heavily involved in sport, and it's been great watching the boys develop their own passions in that space too.

On the footy side, I'm a Tigers man through and through — I've celebrated the good years and done my fair share of character-building along the way. Cricket is another big love, and between the two there's rarely a quiet weekend in our house. I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone, learning the ropes and contributing plenty along the way.
