NORTH LAKES

G’day, I’m Ash, your local Kitset Assembly Technician for North Lakes and surrounding suburbs.

After serving over 22 years in the British Army maintaining helicopters and completing numerous deployments, I decided it was time for a lifestyle change. I relocated with my family to Queensland and took up work in the aviation industry, maintaining commercial passenger jets—until COVID reshaped everything.

With a strong background in hands-on, high-precision work, I found myself drawn to a simpler kind of challenge: flat-pack assembly. Over the years, friends often asked me to assemble furniture for them, knowing I enjoyed the process and had the right tools (and patience!). I’ve always loved figuring out how things go together—there’s real satisfaction in turning a pile of parts into something functional and complete.

Joining Kitset has given me the opportunity to be my own boss and help others take the stress out of their builds. Whether it’s a wardrobe, trampoline, BBQ, or home gym, I take care of it with attention to detail and a calm, methodical approach.

When I’m not working, I’m a devoted rugby union fan—you’ll often find me at Suncorp Stadium cheering on the QLD Reds (don’t hold that against me!). I also enjoy spending quality time with my family and getting outdoors.
