Hi, I’m Mike Robins, one of the expert Assembly Technicians in Sydney.

I’m a proud Gen Xer, born and raised in Sydney, with a career that’s taken a few interesting turns along the way.

I started out completing an Associate Diploma in Industrial Engineering while working as a Toolmaker, Fitter and Turner. After a few years on the tools, I decided it was time to see a bit more of the world. That turned into two years of travelling and four ski seasons working as an instructor in Austria — not a bad way to spend your younger years!

When I eventually made my way back to Australia, I spent five years working in construction before moving into the surf and snow industry. Over the next 15 years, I worked across just about every facet of the industry before swapping the board and skis for the tools again and returning to construction for another 10 years.

Outside of work, I co-manage our family cattle farm with my father, and it’s still one of my favourite places to spend any spare time. There’s always something that needs fixing, building or doing on a farm, so I suppose sitting still has never really been my strong suit.

When I’m not working or at the farm, you’ll usually find me enjoying some time at the beach or, when the budget allows, heading for the mountains to get back on the skis.
